Totally awsome game
This game is so cool.You get to play as trevor, Hannah, and Sean. TThey all have speacil abbilites like, Trevor can place and throw bombs, Hannah can throw rope, and Sean can climb walls and mine. This game is so much fun. Ride the mine car, fall through muscovite, travel across a dangerous river. This game is just the same fun as the movie.

Motivator and Helpful to an extent
It is interesting to keep track of daily food intake and exercise so that I can see where I need to make improvements. However, there need to be improvements in the game. The food intake guide is very limited so you cant get a real accurate count of calories. Also the fitness input is limited. If you are just looking for an assistance for motivation this is a good "game" to purchase. But if you are looking for precise details, you may not be pleased.

used to hate exercising...
I agree with the other reviews that the nutrition part is lacking in this game, but it is a lot less stressful to pick foods i've eaten than spend time researching exactly how many calories a food has. The pedometer has really motivated me to get up and move a lot. I'm a junior in college and my weight fluctuates a lot because it's hard to eat healthily there and i only exercise intensely before spring break. This game has helped me get on a steady routine that I can definetely keep up with, even if it does just include walking 30 minutes a day on the treadmill. People who are really serious about weight loss should maybe count their calories separately but I am just trying to maintain weight so I like that it encourages me to eat more than I normally do.

Disappointed
This game is a good concept, but it's too easy to put down. The pedometer is a bit bulky to wear with my work clothes at the office. The "side games" are informative and your little coach character is the cutest thing. Unfortunately, that's not enough to keep me coming back. Logging the food you eat each day was very difficult. Instead of picking from a written list you tap on pictures of food. Sometimes I wasn't quite sure what type of food the picture represented. The foods shown are very limited and there is no way to know what a serving is. If you tap on a food and realize you made a mistake, you can't fix it. I used the game for about a week and then lost all interest. Chalk up another wasted $[...] to my weight loss quest. My recommendation is to use the old reliable Weight Watchers program. Leave your DS for video games.

Gets you up and moving!!
I really like this game. As a person who would not join a gym for exercise, this game encourages you to move around and eat healthy. The food part is not necessarily a diet to get thin as showing you how to eat a more balanced diet. I love the little stick woman!!

"Food Balance" Section Measures Only Calories, Not Nutrition
This product could be dangerous if you expect it to calculate a "balanced diet" for you. What it means by "balanced" is that the calories of the food you have consumed are sufficient to "balance" the calories you have expended. I had been reporting the food I had eaten (you pull various food icons from the different food groups over to a cartoon figure) for over a week but one day, when I had eaten too many carbs and not enough vegetables, I started to get uneasy. While the program said the diet was "balanced" I knew it was not nutritionally balanced. The next day I calculated my food exchanges on a piece of paper, but instead of what I had actuall eaten I put down that I had consumed nothing but chicken. The program said this diet was "balanced". The next day I did the same thing, only instead of what I had actually eaten I told the program I had eaten nothing but candy. Again, it said my diet was "balanced".

This game is good in that it offers incentive to exercise, and a lot of good information about nutrition. It is a shame that it fell short when it came to the "food balance" part. Surely information about the food pyramid and healthy food exchanges is not too difficult to program into a game? Instead of the wonky pedometer, the manufacturers could have included a small calorie counter.

I think Nintendo DS would be a great platform for a program that encourages exercise *and* helps you select a balanced diet. I am looking forward to it.

GREAT DS GAME!!!
This DS game is based on the Lego Star Wars game. It's funny when the Lego characters die, they break. There is a control that you may need to know. When the top screen says blow, you either need to use the DS microphone or the DS lite top screen. BUY THIS GAME!!!

FREEZE right there Indy...
Ok, so as far as DS games go, being a lego fool, and a HUGE Indiana Jones fan, I was pleasantly surprised at how much fun and how cute this game is.

Fun I give it 4 stars overall. It draws on the various Indiana Jones films and the interaction is set along the story lines of the movies! GREAT! 5 Stars.

Draw back? You can't save along the way so you are forced to finish the chapter in order to auto save. The problem with this is, you better not be ready to put it down when you are at the Dr's office waiting, because you will have to redo the chapter if you turn it off.

Other draw backs, the Tag characters, (these are the ones that stay with you and assist you i.e. Marion etc..)get in the way a lot and I find myself tripping over them and trying to get around them to get items that drop. Sometimes these Tag buddies get stuck and can cause problems like blocking your way when you are trying to go somewhere that will get you killed. Whats fun about the Tag buddies is that you will have to play the chapters over again several times and take different Tag buddies with you in order to find new things. This makes the game last longer and makes it more interesting.

On the Plus side, graphics are adorable and in whole is fun to watch. The mini movies are really great and full of laughs.

FREEZE right there Indiana....and he will...and so will you...because this game is a bit buggy. I purchased a new copy, and played it several times and each time the game froze over and again at the end of chapter 2 called "Fight at the Raven" I would get through the entire chapter, watch the mini movie and then it would freeze. The only way out, is to turn it off and reboot. Now remember that part about not being able to save? You know, where I said it will auto save after the chapter is complete? Well since it freezes at the end of the chapter, it never saved and I had to try playing this whole chapter over and over again to determine if this was a bug or a fluke. After several tries and a lot of lost patience I found it froze in the same place each time.

I have since exchanged it, and will strike out to rumble with Indy again...hopefully this copy will work. If it were not for this issue I would have rated it 4 stars.

Fun!!!
This is a really fun game. I think this one is even better than the star wars!

Lego Indiana Jones DS game
My son is 9 and a total gamer. He loved the game. He played it so much he had most of the charters unlocked in a week. It is not challenging for him. But is a great lego game.

Excellent handheld option for GH buffs!
Okay, so it's not EXACTLY like playing a guitar (not that regular GH is...) but it's a pretty neat translation for the DS system. Some good songs, but mostly one's I'd never heard of.

PROS:
-Decent number of songs
-Awesome dueling mode that keeps things interesting
-Pretty good graphics for a DS game
-Great hand exercise!

CONS:
-Not good for younger players with little hands. I've got small hands, and I have to tighten the strap a lot and stretch my hand
-Not the same "I can play guitar!" feel

Overall, worth the investment. I hear there's a sequel in the works to be sold sans controller, so it won't be as expensive.

Nintendo DS Guitar Hero
I bought this for my 12 yr old son, who already has the regular guitar hero and he loves it so much he wanted it for his DS. He says he finds it easier than the full size version and enjoys playing it quite alot so I have to give it a thumbs up. Shipping was quick and brand new as described and he loves it so I guess that sums it up.

Fun

Good Game, But The Little Things Take It...
I was really hesistant to buy this game, personally. A Guitar Hero on the DS seems, I don't know, out of place. I played it (rented), and I loved it! It's really good, to tell you the truth, but there are a few hangups.

the Guitar grip peripheal doesn't fit that well into the DS. It slides out at points and just kind of feels unnatural. The strumming is unresponsive and the whammy system could cause extra notes to be strummed towards the end of the sustained note. The song list does seem to lean to newer songs, but there is a lot of older songs that Guitar Hero devotees will like. I say that if you are a die hard guitar hero nut, go get this. If not, just wait untill Guitar Hero: World Tour for some new freshness.

Portable Guitar Hero
Guitar Hero on Tour is a portable game for the Nintendo DS that has its moments. Although there are only about 25 songs to play in this game a lot of people don't realize that 25 full songs is actually a lot for the small DS cartridge. They designed it wonderfully with full use of the DS's touch screen. Once you find the right hand position it doesn't hurt anywhere near as much.

Love it!
This little thing is great!! I spend a lot of time waiting during my mother's doctors' appointments, and this is perfect to pass the time! Should have gotten one a long time ago!!

My seven year old loves this game. So much so that we found we needed to put a time limit on his play!

Good Stuff
The screen is much brighter than the old fat DS. The colors are much more vivid, makes playing old games seem like brand new games. Speakers are okay. Battery life is good enough for me. Start and Select are kind of out of the way but whatever, it gets the job done.

Educationally productive
I bought the DS for my two sons 6 and 4, my 6 yr old is motivated to read because in order for him to play the game he must read and now my 6 yr old is teaching my 4 yr old how to read.
I can see his reading skills have more than doubled in just 2 months. He now reads 6 kindergarden books to my 4 yr old every night.

This game is great for kids, but I'm an adult. I want Mario back, the way I used to play the game in the 80's. My sons got me hooked on that game and I used to get up early to play before going to work, and I used to hope my sons were doing something else in the evening so I could play. Finally I just went to buy my own. I really wanted a Wii when I bought this, but it's way too expensive. I'm retired now, so I live on a budget. However, that still doesn't stop me from loving Mario. I can just imagine what it is like to play the game on a Wii.

Classical FF Tactics gameplay, and not much else
The Final Fantasy Tactics series traces its roots back to the venerable game of the same name on Playstation, and the gameplay hasn't changed much in the intervening ten or so years. This is a good thing, since the original game was remarkably enjoyable and deep. Of course, there are minor differences between this game and FFT or FFTA, but the core of the gameplay is identical. You still command a small group of characters who can accept various jobs, each with its own (more or less) unique set of abilities, and combat other armies and monsters on a top-down grid of squares.

However, the story in this game is seriously lacking. While the original FFT had an engrossing (if poorly translated) plot, this game has virtually none at all. Because the game is structured around quests, many of which are optional, there is no focus on the central plot line since you may very well take on multiple optional quests in between two "main storyline" quests. The main storyline is also very forgettable, and I found some of the sidequest storylines more interesting than the main story.

Nevertheless, if you approach this game with the expectation that you'll find classic FFT gameplay and a subpar story, you won't be disappointed. There are lots of missions to complete for the thorough gamers out there, some of which are rather challenging, so if you stay interested throughout this entire game you can expect this game to last about a hundred hours or so.

If you like FireEmblem, you'll love this
I didn't think I could enjoy a turn-based RPG as much as FireEmblem but this game actually blows it out of the water with how much deeper it is. The only thing FireEmblem has above this game is much better story-lines.

Difficult but Fun
This game makes chess look like child's play. This is an EXTREMELY difficult and VERY cerebral game. If you like a good challenge, then this is the game for you!!

Mission: Success!
FFTA2, like its predecessor, sports a rather simple storyline, but don't let that convince you this game won't be much fun or be very long! The fighting system has built on FFTA, changing some things that weren't so good and adding in new jobs, abilities, and races.

The sheer amount of time you can spend with this game is amazing! There are hundreds of quests you can run aside from those that progress the main storyline- most involve fighting, but some just require you to talk to a particular person or bring someone a special item. Instead of being repetitive or dull, most of the missions are quite entertaining, with recurring NPCs and subplots. I've played for over forty hours and I still have plenty of things I want to do!

Anyone who enjoyed the Final Fantasy Tactics Advance would definitely enjoy FFTA2, as well as anyone who likes strategy games with plenty of things to do in them!

some notable flaws but worth a try if you liked other FFT games
Its obvious a lot of effort went into making this game so some of its flaws are surprising. Many of the issues dont become apparent until you are well into 20 hours into the game. First, one of the new races has the ability to cause 400 points of damage using health potions as damage with a 99% chance of succeeding. This pretty much ruins any difficulty in the game right to the end of this very long game. It doesnt help that the enemy AI isnt very hard to beat. Just build an army and make sure to keep acquiring new abilities as you go. Most of the new "jobs" arent as useful as the usual mage, thief, and warrior jobs. But the biggest flaw is the story, which is truly boring from beginning to end. I had fun with the game but the above is just a smattering of some of the issues that eat away at what could have been an awesome game. It gets 3 stars, but only just barely.

playstation 3 nascar 09 is better.
wow i read all these bad reviews for the xbox360 nascar 09 and i am surprised that EA actually put a game out thats better on the playstation 3.don't get me wrong the ps3 game has problems to like some online freezing problems.but the game itself has no problems whatsoever.sounds looks like EA needs to put out a update for the xbox360 game.

Fun but very bugy
The game play is much improved over last year. The 09 version has many more driver assists, so a new player can start racing without continuously crashing into walls and other cars. So this year I'm actually enjoying playing the game. I like the racing in close quarters with other cars, which you don't get to do in most other racing games.

I'm only giving 3 stars because the game has a ridiculous amount of bugs in the career mode. It will say that I haven't met my sponser's goals, and then immediately it will say that I have. I'm continouosly having to go to the paint shop to redo my cars because the game doesn't think I have the right one. It says I can load a car from disk in the paint shop, but no. There are save options, but no load. The game will often lose my paint selection, giving me the awesome gray on gray look. Again forcing me to go back to the paint shop.

Nice attempt EA. Maybe next time you should try doing some testing though.

Nascar Fan
This game will give you an all new respect for the real drivers. This is not a game for the average driver. Even the beginner setting are to much for me. I have both the 08 and 09 games and I do like the lay out of the game and the caracteristics of the 08 game just a little better.

Don't waste your money
This is a great game. One huge problem. It seems once you reach a certain number of laps run, the system locks up your profile and you cannot restart game. I have lost my profile and all of my achievements twice. Once I started looking into the problem I found several web sites where many people have experienced the same problem. Initially I thought my hard drive was the problem, but I have no problems with any other games. There is a major flaw with this game that EA sports does not appear to be doing anything about! DO NOT BUY THIS GAME!

Finally EA comes close to racing perfection
It's been quite a while since I've played a NASCAR game that I've liked, dating back to the old PC game that was much more simulation that simple game. Electronic Arts (EA) has the license for NASCAR games on console systems, so if they don't deliver or if you aren't happy with what they have delivered you're left doing what I've had to do over the last several years -- skip it. Not so this season! Finally NASCAR racing that is challenging, yet not overly so, and still F-U-N.
In previous incarnations, at least over the last few years, the game was challenging, but not in a good way. For example, in NASCAR08 beginners (like I normally am) were easily frustrated as the computer controlled (artificial intelligence or a.i.) drivers were very aggressive and would spin out human drivers in an instant. Instead of avoiding wrecks, the a.i. drivers would simply barrel on through the human driver and end your race. NASCAR07 had problems and frustrations of it's own and failed to deliver a product that could be recommended for purchase.
NASCAR09 has taken much of the best of previous versions and put the fun back in the game for novice level players. It is much easier to set fair and realistic competitive levels for the computer controlled drivers and thanks to that even a novice can grab the game and run a fun race.
NASCAR09 brings a Madden like reputation system to the game that lets players build up their reputation and gain rewards for doing so. In the career mode gamers sign team and sponsor contracts and again get rewards for completing the obligations that those contracts bring. Basically, if you complete your contracts you'll get performance points that are used to improve how well your vehicle performs on the various track types. In addition to gaining points from completing contracts you'll earn points from completing tasks in the Sprint Driver Challenges mode -- a series of 'mini-games' that help you get familiar with the game's controls and performance of the various vehicles.
There are a few areas where the game could be improved, and eventually make it 'the perfect racing game'. For example, bringing back some variation of the team control mode of a few years back would be such a place. In addition, the game really needs to include another variation of the drivers reputation system, in this case a reputation system for driver agressiveness and grudges -- if a driver is too agressive and is too dangerous on the track, at least to other drivers, the a.i. drivers should take take note and vary their style to try to take revenge and offer some payback.
Thanks EA for finally offering a fun and highly playable NASCAR game, it's a honor to be able to recommend this one for purchase for racing fans. Once you do get the game go along with the intro modes and jump into the Sprint Driver Challenges. You'll be amazed at how quickly time passes as you enjoy playing the game.
